Istanbul (de)Gentrified

In this project, I tried to explore a different aspect of the city I live in. İstanbul is a beautiful city with all of its historical heritage and picturesque sea sides but due to the great diversity of its population, it is also a city consisted of various layers filled with contradictions and juxtapositions. All of the photos except the first three were taken in the same area and I did not walk more than a kilometre through the whole shot. The possibility to find skyscrapers, abandoned houses, nature, color and monochrome within the same area is what İstanbul is all about. It is the city of ultimate randomness and diversity.
